Art/Music

For art and music class, we will alternate topics by month. Music class will cover instruments, an overview of the orchestra and an introduction to all different genres. Art class will cover different mediums and types of art, including arts and crafts, step by step drawing, painting, and learning about different artists and styles of art.

Geography

As a class we travel through the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean. We will follow a young Indian Boy who carves a little canoe with a figure inside and names him Paddle- to- the Sea. Students will learn about the geographic and historical picture of the region. We will explore geography terms: the world is round, left from right, north, south, east, west, hemispheres, equator, Latitude and longitude. We will be reading Paddle to the Sea by Holling Clancy Holling

Gym​

Students will have fun playing games that promote teamwork while working on their large motor skills. Some games we will play will be running based, throwing based, strategy based as well as touching on the foundational skills needed for sports like basketball, soccer, hockey and more!

Science: Nature Explorers

The goal for this class is that we have our class outside every week! We will spend time exploring the world around us- weather, plants, animals, land, and more. We will incorporate other subjects into this science class such as: art, writing, reading, and more!

NOTES: Each student needs a composition book to use as their nature journal.
