Committees at Co-op

2026-2027

Each mom should be willing to participate in at least one committee each year, with the goal of enriching students, engaging parents, and exalting God. Committee Heads will organize their committee, ensuring that the purpose of the committee is accomplished, deadlines are met, and communication to the Co-op about the details is clear and timely. They are also responsible for staying within their budget.

1. Christmas Party

We’ll celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ together. Sign up if you love Christmas and planning parties. Committee members decorate; plan and run games/activities for kids, teens, and adults; arrange for a meal (partnering with the Food Committee); and help clean up afterwards.

2. Entrepreneur Fair

The event is the first Saturday in December. Our kids -- and some adults -- sell their goods and services to the community. Sign up if you want to help advertise, set up the gym, encourage the students in their businesses, and clean up afterwards.

3. Field Day

Sign up if you enjoy planning games and want to see kids have some old-fashioned fun. Tasks are performed in the spring.

4. Food

Sign up if you enjoy planning event menus, setting up, serving, and cleaning. This committee is active in the Christmas Party, Graduation/Closing Ceremony, and Special Day.

5. Graduation/Closing Ceremony

Sign up if you would like to help plan and run a ceremony for co-op members and their families, that involves arranging special music, tributes to graduating seniors, photo slideshow, and refreshments. A printed program is designed and distributed. Set-up and clean-up help is needed. Moms of graduating seniors are on this committee by default, but other moms are needed.

6. Special Day

All classes are suspended for the day as we explore a specific theme or field together. Past examples are science fairs, play productions, literary greats, or the ancient world. Committee members transform the gym, and arrange for theme-based, interactive activities, projects to be displayed. Lunch is served, and often there is a special guest speaker. Many hands are needed for set-up and clean-up. Tasks are performed in the fall and early winter.

7. Yearbook

Sign up if you like layout and design, photography, or just want to be part of a producing a much-beloved publication that chronicles the school year. Tasks are performed throughout the school year, working closely with the students in the Yearbook club.
